Goals, goals, goals!

So, I've been a long time lurker on many running/healthy living blogs and have really wanted to start my own. When I read this post at ohsheglows.com I figured it was a good way to start!

Here is a method Angela uses to set goals:

A.Write down 3 accomplishments that you are proud of in your life. Beside each one write down how each of them made you feel.

B.Write down 3 goals that you want to achieve over the next 3 months. It can be anything.

C Write down ‘terminals’ for each goal. In other words, how you will know when the goal is completed or ended. Write a start date and a finish date if you want to get really specific.

D Now comes the planning part. Write down what you need to do to achieve these goals! Be as specific as possible as list as many points as needed for each goal.

So here I go...

PART A:

1. Married a wonderful man. Wonderful, fulfilled, loved.

2. Completed a 1/2 marathon. Strong, healthy.

3. Finished my 2nd year of teaching. Determined, accomplished.

PART B:

1. Complete my first triathlon!

2. Finish a summer class with an "A".

3. Introduce new and healthy foods into my household.

PART C:

1. Well, the triathlon is July 12th, so that will be the finish line. I am including my training plan at the end of this post.

2. The class ends at the end of July.

3. Introduce one new recipe each week; either a recipe for a dinner dish (main, side, appetizer) or desert/snack.

PART D:

1. Keep up with training schedule, but don't be too vigilent about it! Remember that life happens and some training days will not occur!

2. Be diligent about keeping up with reading/answering material! Set a specific time to be "in class" even though it is at home.

3. See above. One new recipe each week.

So there you have it! My first post. Stay tuned tomorrow for more of an introduction to who I am and what this whole blog is all about!
